Crime Prevention and Safety
The University Police Department regards the safety of the University community and the prevention of campus crime as a priority. The Department has many programs that strive to inform and educate all those who work, study and live at the university.
HELP STOP CRIME
To report a crime or any suspicious activity call the
University Police Department at 413-572-5262.
THEFT
One of the major crimes on campus is theft. The University Police is trying to prevent this crime by encouraging both students and staff to lock their doors. If a member of the Department finds an open door he/she will secure the open door.
OPERATION IDENTIFICATION
The Department has engravers available for public use to engrave names on valuables. If a valuable is lost or stolen its much easier to claim it if your name is on it.
PROGRAMS
University Police Officers are also available to present programs on campus. Such programs include RAD, crime prevention/safety, Run-Hide-Fight and others. More information regarding Campus Safety Programs is available at the University Police Department.
