Our Animation Minor offers a dynamic mix of courses to help you explore and excel in the field of animation. Start with Drawing I to develop your artistic skills and then further your studies with Computer Graphics for Art Applications I to learn essential digital tools. You'll gain hands-on experience with foundational techniques in Animation Foundations and continue to refine your skills through advanced courses like Animation II, Animation III, and Animation IV, each addressing different facets of animation. Finally, 3-D Animation will introduce you to the latest in three-dimensional design. Together, these courses provide a well-rounded education in both traditional and cutting-edge animation techniques.

Program Description

For non-art majors interested in a career in Animation or preparation for graduate study in Animation, the Animation Minor offers broad-based training in this field of art. The Animation Minor exposes students to a wide range of contemporary and conventional techniques. These include documentary animation, character animation, stop motion, digitally generated animation, and other emerging technologies. The minor culminates in a project consisting of an animated film as well as a portfolio presenting the students' professional and creative work in the field.
